Treatment Alternatives for Stronger Communities (TASC) in Belleville, IL, is hiring a Peer Support Specialist to help individuals reenter their communities with stability and hope. You will coach life skills, provide transportation and outreach, and work with the PSH team to support recovery and housing goals.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, community engagement, and collaboration with behavioral health providers. Starting salary is $40,000–$43,000, commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience facilitating groups is preferred.
• Higher education or certifications may be required by some contracts.
• Demonstrates initiative and creativity in leadership and discussions.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to achieve service plan goals through coordination with behavioral health providers and community resources.
• Encourage engagement in meaningful community activities and groups.
• Coach clients in daily living skills and landlord/neighbor communications.
• Assist clients in identifying natural supports and recovery capital.
• Document all interactions accurately in the ECR system and participate in supervision and trainings.
