Job summary

Terros Health is seeking a Peer Support Specialist for the Oak Recovery Health Center in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on facilitating group and individual activities to aid recovery for individuals with SMI or other mental health needs.

You will conduct assessments and develop service plans, supporting families and clients while maintaining thorough documentation. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with relevant certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED or approved alternative education.
• Peer Certification and Arizona State Peer Certification required or pursued.
• Experience in behavioral health settings is preferred.
• Pass typing assessment with minimum 25wpm and MS Office proficiency.

Seeking a Peer Support Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team working with individuals diagnosed with a Serious Mental Illness (SMI) or General Mental Health diagnosis under Court Ordered Treatment at our Oak Recovery Health Center.

Full-Time Employment: 40 hours per week

Monday - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Location: 4451 E. Oak St., Phoenix AZ, 85008

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for facilitating various group and individual activities that support and strengthen the member and the families assisting them in their recovery. Qualifications:

• Must have a High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 weeks of behavioral health employment experience; or
• An associates degree in the field of medical or behavioral health,
• A bachelor's degree (not in the field of behavioral health) and 1 year of behavioral health experience,
• A bachelor's degree in the field of behavioral health.
• Peer Support Specialist Employment Training and Arizona State Peer Certification.
• Self-Identify as a Behavioral Health Care recipient in recovery for at least 1-3 years and/or first-hand experience with family members with serious mental illness and/or chronic disease.
• Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook. Must be able to pass typing assessment with minimum 25wpm.
• Knowledge in use of Electronic Health Records - NextGen is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish/ASL is desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have valid Arizona driver's license, be 21 years of age with minimum 4 years driving experience and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.
• Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.
• Must pass a TB Test.
