Job summary

Pawnee Mental Health invites applications for a Peer Support Specialist. You will help clients build peer networks, support treatment planning, and advocate for client rights in a community-based setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, personal recovery experience, and strong English communication. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are expected; Kansas CPS certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Personal life experience as a consumer of mental health services is required.
• Oral and written English communication skills are essential.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in developing a network for information and support.
• Assist clients with enhancing their ability to participate in treatment decisions.
• Advocate for client rights and community integration; maintain confidentiality.
• Review incidents with supervisor and complete required reports.
• Provide mentorship and act as a role model for clients.
• Attend supervision and participate in ongoing training.
