Job summary

Pawnee Mental Health in Kansas is seeking a Client Support Provider to work directly with youth and adults facing behavioral health challenges, offering skill-building, emotional support, and peer-based encouragement to help clients gain stability and confidence.

Candidates must have lived experience with behavioral health conditions and be in stable recovery, with a high school diploma and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Lived experience with a behavioral health or mental health condition and demonstrated stable recovery.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and required insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Preferred: post-secondary education in a human services field.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct services and peer support to children and adults in homes, schools, and community settings.
• Use lived experience in appropriate, recovery-focused ways to support client growth and stability.
• Develop and implement individual and group activities based on person-centered treatment plans.
• Support clients in managing triggers, stressors, and crisis situations to promote safety and independence.
• Advocate for client rights, dignity, and community inclusion while supporting medication compliance as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation, participate in supervision and trainings, and coordinate schedules and transportation.
