Job summary

PeerStar, Pennsylvania’s leading peer support provider, seeks a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) to offer 1:1 peer guidance using personal recovery experience. The role centers on hope, empowerment, and connecting peers to recovery resources.

We sponsor certification and provide benefits, with full-time and part-time opportunities. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to serve peers statewide in PA.

Qualifications

• Must attest to having a mental health diagnosis and be in recovery to support others in similar situations.
• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Must have 6 months of consecutive employment or volunteer work experience; OR 12 months in the last 3 years of paid or volunteer work.
• Must participate in a two-week course to receive state-issued certification or possess a PCB state-issued CPS certification.
• Must have a driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Promote empowerment and self-determination for clients.
• Build trust and provide tools to help peers achieve growth.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to attest to having a mental health diagnosis and have reached a point in their recovery pathway where they can positively support others in similar situations
• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• Must have maintained 6 months of consecutive employment or volunteer work experience; OR within the last three (3) years, have maintained at least 12 months of successful full or part-time paid or volunteer work experience.
• Must be able to participate in a two-week course to receive state-issued certification or possess a PCB state-issued CPS certification.
• Ability to use iPad for documentation.
• Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation.
