Qualifications

  • Must obtain Maryland Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) within one year of hire.
  • Must self-identify as an individual who is in recovery from a serious mental illness or be in recovery for substance abuse.
  • Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
  • High school diploma, associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, support, and advocacy in support of recovery from substance abuse and mental health issues.
  • Facilitate wellness management using WRAP, IMR, or WHAM approaches.
  • Participate as a multidisciplinary team member and provide consultation in recovery principles and strategies.
  • Use motivational strategies to engage clients with assertive engagement techniques.

Description

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm (+ occasional weekends). Type: In Person.

What to expect.

This is a unique direct care opportunity to provide coaching, support, and advocacy in support of recovery from substance abuse and other mental health issues by sharing your lived experience.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating wellness management and recovery with formalized approaches such as Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP), Illness Management and Recovery (IMR), or Whole Health Action Management (WHAM).
  • Participating as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and providing consultation in recovery principles and strategies.
  • Utilizing assertive engagement techniques to engage clients including motivational strategies.
