Job summary

Family Resource Center in Findlay, OH is seeking a Full-Time Service Worker to provide peer support, coaching, and resource navigation for individuals in recovery. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, help clients access services, and assist with maintaining documentation in HRIS and EHR systems.

The role requires a commitment to recovery-driven care, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to undergo background checks and certification updates as needed.

Qualifications

  • Past consumer of mental health or substance abuse services with a history of managing one's own illness.
  • Awareness of recovery importance in living with mental illness or addictions.
  • Experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field.
  • Active membership in a consumer advocacy or self-help group with a significant recovery period.
  • Peer Support Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer support to individuals facing challenges in their recovery.
  • Assist clients in utilizing community resources and expanding support networks.
  • Offer encouragement during crises and advocate for clients' rights.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and document in HRIS/EHR systems.

You will provide peer support to people in your community who are facing challenges you understand. You will improve their recovery. Be part of our multi-disciplinary team. You will make a difference. You will provide individual ongoing coaching. Show people how to use community resources. Assist them in increasing their support networks - relatives, friends and significant others. Offer encouragement in times of crisis. Advocate for and protect their rights. Help reduce stigma. Collaborate with others involved in the client's recovery plan. You will matter. In this role you will regularly use various computer apps including Microsoft Office, our HRIS, EHR and other online systems, with multiple logins often simultaneously.

You will have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, earn CPR/First aid certification, and be willing to submit to a background check and finger printing.
