Job summary

Centerstone is seeking a Peer Support Specialist in Kirksville, MO to empower individuals on their recovery journey. You will assist in crafting treatment plans, maintain open communication with referral sources, and participate in staffing for continuity of care.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention when needed, promoting recovery, and helping clients build coping skills and independence within the community. Join a mission-driven behavioral health team dedicated to compassionate care.

  • Complete a state-approved training program and pass any required exam.

As a Peer Support Specialist you’ll assist participants in crafting treatment plans, maintain open communication with referral sources, engage in staffing for seamless continuity of care, provide crisis intervention when necessary, and promote recovery and resilience.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
  • Self-identify as a current or former person of mental health or substance use services OR self-identify as a person in recovery from mental health or substance use disorder

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Complete a state-approved training program and, if required, pass a standardized examination

Required License/Certification:
  • Drivers License
