Responsibilities

With over 400 employees in Southern Colorado, you would be joining a mighty team of support and administrative staff, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and others in our efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.We’re hiring for a full-time EMT Peer Support to join our Crisis Services Team at 1310 Chinook Ln, Pueblo, CO.Work schedule: Must be able to work Twelve (12) hour shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7pm-7amWhat You’ll Be DoingWe are seeking an empathetic and skilled EMT Peer Support Specialist to join our mental health crisis and mobile crisis response services team. In this role, you will provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and immediate medical assistance to individuals experiencing mental health crises in various community settings. As an EMT Peer Support Specialist, you will collaborate closely with mental health professionals and emergency response teams to ensure comprehensive and effective crisis response and mobile outreach services.RESPONSIBILITIES: As an EMT Peer Support under the supervision of the Director of Crisis.Respond promptly and compassionately to mental health crisis and mobile crisis calls, providing on-site support and medical assistance as neededConduct initial assessments of individuals in crisis medical needsUtilize your EMT training and experience to provide immediate medical care and support, such as administering first aid, assessing vital signs, and managing any physical health emergenciesEstablish rapport and build trust with individuals in crisis, offering non-judgmental and empathetic peer supportCollaborate with mental health professionals, law enforcement, and other emergency response teams to coordinate and implement crisis intervention strategiesFacilitate de-escalation techniques and utilize crisis prevention strategies to help individuals regain emotional stabilityDocument all interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to confidentiality and legal guidelinesProvide ongoing emotional support, actively listening to individuals' concerns and providing encouragement and validationCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including mental health clinicians, social workers, and emergency responders, to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive crisis responseParticipate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and trainings to enhance crisis intervention skills, EMT skills, trauma-informed care, and peer support technique.Maintain knowledge of current mental health crisis response protocols, EMT protocols, policies, and best practicesOther assigned dutiesPhysical requirements include the following:Requires full range of body motionManual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordinationRequires standing, walking, and staying stationary for prolonged periodsOccasionally lifts and carries items up to 25 poundsRequires exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluidsRequires working under stress in emergenciesRequires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record data electronically and communicate with patientsFrequently operates a computer and other office equipment to record health dataConstantly communicates with clients and othersFrequently drives between facilities or for other assigned dutiesWhat You’ll Like About UsCompetitive pay $19.24-$22.06 Hourly (Dependent on experience, certification and shift)Generous benefits package.
