Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Michigan Certified Peer Support Specialist certification.
• Relevant recovery experience in a related role.
• Valid Michigan Driver License with insurability per Common Ground policy.

Responsibilities

• Respond swiftly to crisis calls to meet program response times.
• Perform curb-side staff safety assessments to determine response needs.
• Drive agency or personal vehicle to community locations for crisis response.
• Maintain reliable personal vehicle for job use and community engagements.
• Provide trauma-informed, brief, solution-focused crisis intervention to adults/children.
• Document crisis interventions and client interactions accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with clients and support networks to develop safety plans and coping strategies.
• Facilitate transition to aftercare services and coordinate recovery plans.
• Model recovery and skill development for coping strategies.

MDHHS Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)

Contingent - Seeking candidates open to working weekends. Shifts include 8am to 4pm or 3pm to 11pm.

Compensation

$21.00 - $24.00 per hour, plus applicable shift differential.

About You

Role requires a MDHHS Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS). Provide mobile outreach and crisis intervention to individuals in distress, aiming to offer peer support, guidance, and assistance during their crisis moments. Promote recovery, reduce the risk of hospitalization or institutionalization, and connect individuals with appropriate mental health resources and services. Day in the Life

• Respond swiftly to crisis calls to align with program response times
• Perform curb-side staff safety assessments in order to assess team response requirements
• Drive agency vehicle (or personal vehicle) to community locations to respond to crisis call
• Maintain reliable personal vehicle for use to and from job and occasionally within the community
• Provide active crisis intervention that is welcoming, trauma-informed, brief, and solution-focused to adults/children presenting in distress
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all crisis interventions and interactions with clients
• Collaborate with individuals/families and their support systems to develop safety plans and identify coping strategies for managing future crises
• Facilitate transition to appropriate aftercare services and assist with implementation of individual recovery plans and coordination of natural supports
• Act as a role model in recovery and the development of coping skills
