Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group seeks a Peer Support Counselor in Victorville, CA. The role uses lived experience to provide outreach, engagement, advocacy, and direct services to clients of all ages in a crisis residential setting.

You will serve as a model and advocate, helping clients move toward recovery and meaningful life roles beyond illness. Responsibilities include collaboration with CRT programs, engagement with clients, and coordination of support services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Personal experience as a consumer in the child welfare, probation, or mental health systems.
• One year of full-time experience in consumer-directed services.
• Peer Support Specialist Certification preferred; complete within one year of employment.
• Valid California Driver's License.
• First Aid certification from qualified agencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and engagement, support, advocacy, and direct services to clients of all ages.
• Serve as role models, companions, educators, and advocates for clients.

Peer Support Counselors are people who have lived experience in the mental health, judicial, and/or social service systems in some capacity. They serve as role models, companions, educators and advocates to our clients.
