Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group in Orange, CA seeks a Recovery Counselor to support adults in Crisis Residential services. You will provide direct care, encourage self-help skills, and help clients stabilize and transition back to the community. The role requires empathetic communication and teamwork within a supervisory structure.

Qualifications

• Completion of 15 semester units in psychology, sociology, or related behavioral sciences from an accredited college.
• Six months of full-time experience in mental health, healthcare, or social services.
• Valid California driver’s license with an eligible driving record; CNA cert is a plus (optional).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to meet the physical and psychosocial needs under direct supervision.
• Promote self-help skills and assist clients with daily living activities.
• Transport clients in facility vehicles as directed.
• Conduct group activities and outings under supervision of the Program Manager.

Duties are performed under direct supervision of the Program Coordinator, but some tasks are accomplished independently. Job duties include promoting and assisting clients with self-help skills in the areas of eating, hygiene and grooming, and other activities or nursing activities. Encouraging client interactions and socialization with other peers, providing feedback to clients on appropriate behavior while acting as a role model. Transporting clients in facility vehicles as directed.
