Job summary

Axiom Care in Phoenix is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to work with the treatment team, providing emotional, social, and practical support to clients in recovery. The role emphasizes hope, empowerment, and advocacy, delivering 1:1 and group sessions, while helping clients navigate resources and reduce engagement barriers.

You will participate in daily staffing, document clinical notes, and collaborate with departments to assess progress.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate strong active listening to ensure people feel heard.
• Proficient with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Lived recovery experience and at least 1 year in recovery.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, recovery-focused trauma informed relationships using shared lived experience.
• Facilitate psychoeducational groups and support groups.
• Educate clients on harm reduction strategies.
• Transport clients to appointments or services when needed.
• Collaborate with all other departments to assess client progress, needs, and barriers.
• Always maintain strict adherence to ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Challenge individuals to explore their strengths and overcome obstacles.
• Secure client information per HIPAA and CFR42 part 2 standards.
• Attend mandatory treatment team staffing daily, clinical supervision or other meetings as requested.
• Perform other related tasks and projects assigned by management.
