Job summary

Brandywine Counseling & Community Services, Inc. (BCCS) is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for the ATDC program in Delaware.

The role provides peer recovery support, screens clients for social determinants of health, and assists with health insurance applications and entitlements. The position emphasizes empowerment, case management, and connecting clients to housing, employment resources, and community services.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED
• REQUIRED: Must be a Peer.
• REQUIRED: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)
• REQUIRED: 6 Months Experience in Substance Abuse/Mental Health

Responsibilities

• Provide peer recovery support services to maintain client recovery.
• Screen and assess social determinants of health (SDOH) needs within 10 days of entry.
• Assist uninsured clients in applying for health insurance within 45 days of assessment.
• Help clients gain entitlements and access community resources.
• Act as case managers to obtain resources like food, housing, and employment services.
• Educate clients to develop a strong recovery support system.
• Teach coping skills and self-care to promote long-term recovery.
• Utilize problem-solving techniques with individuals and groups.
