Job summary

Legacy Treatment Services in New Jersey seeks a full-time Peer Recovery Specialist to provide recovery support and peer coaching to program participants, both face-to-face and by phone. You will complete DMHAS trainings and help develop recovery plans and wellness actions to empower clients.

Responsibilities include linking clients with treatment and social services, while adhering to agency procedures and participating in agency-paid holidays and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Associate’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma required.
• Must have 2 years’ experience in recovery principles that support health and wellness.
• CPRS certification (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide recovery support and peer coaching to program participants, face-to-face and by telephone.
• Attend DMHAS state mandated trainings and orient participants to treatment initiatives.
• Develop recovery and wellness plans and connect clients with social services and recovery resources.

Job description

The Peer Recovery Specialist provides recovery support and peer coaching to program participants. Required to attend DMHAS State mandated trainings delineating peer role functions, competencies, responsibilities, and orientation to DMHAS treatment initiatives. Works with individuals to support and strengthen their capacity to engage in personal recovery through wellness services, development of recovery plans/wellness recovery action plans, education on navigating treatment social services and recovery support programs.
