Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Lived experience with substance use disorders and a successful recovery journey is required.
• WVCBAPP PRSS Certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of the recovery process and community resources.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
• Maintain current First Aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and group peer support services.
• Share personal recovery experiences and strategies.
• Assist clients in setting personal recovery goals and action plans.
• Educate clients about community resources and treatment options.
• Provide ongoing guidance, coaching and support.
• Understand consumer rights and company policies.
• Collaborate with counselors and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records of interactions and progress.
• Advocate for clients within the healthcare system.
• Attend trainings to stay current with best practices in recovery support.
• Offer crisis support and encouragement.
