Job summary

Chrysalis Health is seeking a Peer Recover / Peer Support Specialist to provide personalized support to individuals navigating recovery. You will foster community connections, guide people to utilize personal and community resources, and help expand support networks while offering crisis support when needed.

The role emphasizes lived experience in substance use or related mental health challenges, with a strong commitment to reducing stigma and promoting wellbeing across clients and families.

Qualifications

• Lived experience in Substance Use and/or co-occurring mental health issues.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Current OHMHAS Certified Peer Support certification or in process.
• CDCA or another clinical certification/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support.
• Provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
• Assist in developing formal and informal community support.
• Help the person served increase social support networks of relatives, friends, and/or significant others.
• Offer encouragement in times of crisis.
• Advocate for persons with behavioral health problems to protect rights and reduce stigma.
