Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking a Peer Recovery Adjunct to teach Peer Recovery Specialist courses on campus, online, or in remote synchronous formats. The role requires preparing and delivering instruction, coordinating with program staff, and participating in department activities to support accreditation and student success.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Maryland Peer Recovery certification, and at least five years of experience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Family Studies, Social Work, or related field.
  • Valid Maryland certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist or Registered Peer Supervisor required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Peer Recovery Specialist.
  • Proficient computer skills and Microsoft applications knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills department and college responsibilities as directed by the Department Chair and/or Program Coordinator.
  • Abides by College wide policies and procedures regarding classroom conduct.
  • Employs a variety of teaching strategies to meet a diverse student population.
  • Adheres to the scheduled time of class.
  • Develops a course syllabus that is in keeping with program and College policies.
  • Ensures that program specific evaluation methods are administered and completed in a consistent and equitable manner.
  • Assure that assessment/evaluation methods are appropriate and effectively assessing the established course objectives.
  • Monitors student performance on a regular basis and provides feedback within a reasonable timeframe to students.
