Job summary

Berkeley County Commission seeks a Peer Recovery Coach to provide strength-based support for individuals pursuing recovery from substance use and related challenges. You will work within the Resource Recovery Center to help clients set goals, access resources, and sustain recovery.

The role involves supervising a caseload, facilitating groups, and coordinating transportation to meetings while maintaining strict confidentiality and abiding by local/state guidelines.

Qualifications

• Must have been in recovery for a minimum of 3 years.
• Must be free of all life-controlling problems/addictions.
• Must maintain an active personal support/recovery system.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and rehabilitative services to a caseload of 25-30 clients.
• Provide informal counseling to clients.
• Introduce clients to the recovery community.
• Assist clients with developing WRAP plans.
• Provide transportation to recovery meetings.
• Facilitate Peer Recovery, 12 Step Facilitation, and Drug and Alcohol Education Groups.
• Promote clients’ recovery and serve as a guide/mentor.
• Help clients access resources to stay substance-free.
• Assist with housing, food, insurance, and vocational support search.
