Summary:

The Peer Recovery Partner role provides one-on-one support to individuals in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer works. This role also involves group facilitation and supporting individuals in connecting to wellness and recovery opportunities within their communities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Some college coursework preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete relevant training required for the position. This may include the State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification. Provisional CIPSS Certification may be required within 9 months of start date. Ability to maintain certification is also required. Recovery Coach training may also be necessary upon hire or within 9 months. A valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle covered by liability insurance as per agency policy are required.
  3. Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support is preferred.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements: Must be receiving or have received services/supports related to a history of substance use, be in active recovery, and be willing to self-identify as such with peers and in the community. Computer proficiency is required.
