Job summary

Comunilife Inc in Brooklyn is seeking part-time Peer/Bridge Mentors to support participants in recovery and independent living. Mentors share lived experience with homelessness, substance use, or mental illness to promote coping skills and well-being.

You will assist with outreach, provide crisis support, help with appointments and entitlements, and collaborate with case management. Bilingual Spanish and English preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Personal experience with homelessness, substance use, or mental illness preferred.
• Ability to build relationships and influence positive activities.
• Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach, engagement, and acculturation of program participants.
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
• Encourage participants to access entitlements and accompany to appointments.
• Promote recovery and mental/physical health through peer support.
• Collaborate with case management staff on client needs.
• Conduct groups to promote socialization and recovery.
• Assist in teaching daily living skills and independence.
• Documentation of interactions and adherence to program procedures.
