Job summary

Baltic Street Wellness Solutions seeks a Peer Bridger to provide recovery-oriented, person-centered services to individuals with mental health lived experience in New York. The role emphasizes peer mentorship, advocacy, and supportive documentation within a trauma-informed framework.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, APS certification or initiation of certification within 6 months, and experience or training in Peer Advocacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• APS (Academy of Peer Services) certification or filing for certification within 6 months of hire.
• Peer advocacy experience or training required; ability to be patient and supportive.
• Knowledge of the Community Mental Health System is a plus.
• Internet savvy; familiarity with Word and Excel; ability to complete paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Model and promote the principles of recovery/self-help.
• Advocate for participant civil rights and liberties.
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters (HIPAA).
• Provide mental health services within the Eight Dimensions of Wellness.
• Provide referrals and linkages to needed services.
• Maintain a formal caseload and face-to-face services.
• Facilitate groups and other activities to promote services.
• Keep an organized office area to support service delivery.
• Share real-world experiences to empower participants.
• Collaborate with other organizations to foster positive interagency relations.
