Job summary

Oakland Community Health Network is seeking a contingent Peer Recovery Coach for the Sober Support Unit. The role focuses on engaging individuals with SUD services, using motivational interviewing, and guiding them through withdrawal management or residential treatment pathways.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED and CCAR or State Certified Peer Recovery Coach credentials. Experience in public services and strong computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CCAR or State Certified Peer Recovery Coach required.
• Experience with Substance Use Disorders and mental health services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm and welcoming environment for persons served.
• Deliver short-term, recovery-oriented services to adults in crisis.
• Provide recovery coaching to engage individuals in withdrawal management or residential treatment services.
• Communicate hope and the potential for recovery in conversations.
• Engage actively with team members and other departments.
• Document interactions and progress in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Conduct intakes onto the unit and refer to appropriate access points.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
