Job summary

ACMH INC is seeking a Peer Program & Support Specialist in New York, NY to provide direct in-home services and coach clients in daily living skills. The role includes mentoring peer staff, facilitating groups, and promoting recovery-oriented peer support across the organization.

The position requires lived experience with mental health services and NYCPS certification, with strong English communication and basic data entry skills.

Qualifications

• Must have NYCPS certification.
• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, mentorship, and advocacy to peer staff.
• Supports ongoing monthly peer groups (Zoom and in-person).
• Teaches skills for daily living including hygiene, laundry, budgeting, shopping and meals.
• Monitors apartment maintenance and safety; reports issues to supervisor.
• Documents services rendered and client progress; tracks outcomes.
• Assists in building self-advocacy with supports and treatment team.
