Job summary

Telecare Corporation is seeking a Peer Recovery Coach I in California to engage with members, foster recovery goals, and promote a Recovery Centered Clinical System. The role emphasizes peer empowerment, collaboration with the care team, and crisis de-escalation within a 7:00 AM–3:30 PM weekend shift.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus Peer Certification (CalMHSA) within 120 days. Valid driver’s license and a willingness to use the company vehicle are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• One year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care.
• Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training.
• Valid and current driver’s license and vehicle insurance; willingness to use company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire, and facilitate conversations to help members explore and meet recovery goals.
• Provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture (RCCS).
• Respond to emergencies with de-escalation skills for a least restrictive environment.
• Support Saturday and Sunday AM shifts (7:00 AM–3:30 PM).
