Door County is seeking a Defined Term Employee Peer Recovery Support Specialist to provide peer-based support to individuals facing substance use and co-occurring challenges. You will mentor, coach, and help participants set recovery goals, access resources, and address barriers in community settings.

The role emphasizes self-determination, multiple pathways to recovery, and collaboration with behavioral health staff.

Formación

• Must have personal lived experience with substance use challenges.
• Must complete 40 hours of approved training within one month of hire: 10 hours advocacy, 10 mentoring, 10 recovery and wellness support, 10 ethics.
• Demonstrate ability to accurately and timely document services, interactions, and information.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilidades

• Provides individualized peer support to assist participants in recovery, wellness, and life goals.
• Uses lived experience to mentor, coach, encourage, and support skill development.
• Promotes continuity of care across behavioral health and recovery services.
• Establishes supportive peer relationships while maintaining boundaries and ethics.
• Connects participants with behavioral health, recovery, social services, and community resources.
• Plans and facilitates peer-based groups and activities to promote recovery and social connection.
• Acts as liaison to the local recovery community and natural supports.
• Identifies and addresses barriers to services, supporting self-determination and choice.
• Delivers services in community settings with flexible scheduling.
• Collaborates with behavioral health staff through meetings and care coordination.
• Completes accurate and timely documentation of peer support services.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to relevant laws and policies.
