Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist for its Adult and Addiction Services program in Indiana. You will provide peer support, advocate for patients, and assist in non-clinical skills groups under clinician supervision.

The role emphasizes recovery, personal goal setting, and coordination of care while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality in a fast-paced community health setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sustained period of recovery for at least 2 years with substance use.
• Self-identified person in recovery from substance use.
• Holds current Certified Peer Support Professional (CPSP) credential or will obtain within 4 months of employment.
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in identifying personal goals for recovery.
• Collaborate with clinicians in developing treatment and discharge plans.
• Provide case management and coordinate contractual care as needed.
• Complete relevant assessments.
• Help patients recognize barriers to recovery.
• Support patients in recognizing strengths and building recovery capital.
• Facilitate non-clinical skills groups.
• Assist patients in building social skills and healthy relationships.
• Model self-care and healthy recovery practices.
