Job summary

ACMH INC is seeking a Part-Time Peer Program Specialist to provide direct service to clients at Ana's House in The Bronx. The candidate will teach essential skills for daily living, assist with mental health recovery goals, and contribute to the overall well-being of clients.

This role requires lived experience in mental health or substance use, strong communication skills, and basic computer abilities. The position offers hourly compensation of $22.07 for certified specialists.

Qualifications

• Lived experience as a consumer of mental health and substance use services.
• Completion of NYCPS certification preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches skills for maintaining personal hygiene and apartment cleanliness.
• Monitors maintenance of apartments and reports issues.
• Administers client cooking safety test and teaches budgeting skills.

Skills

Lived experience as a consumer of mental health, substance use, and/or homeless services

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Basic computer and data entry skills

Commitment to assisting others in attaining their mental health recovery goals

Education

High School diploma or G.E.D.

New York Certified Peer Program (NYCPS) certification
