Seminole State College of Florida seeks a Peer Mentor for the First Year Experience to assist the instructor as a teaching-team member, meet with a small group of first-year students, share campus information, direct mentees to resources, and answer general inquiries. This student pool position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, current SSC student by fall term, and a 2.5 GPA.
The role offers up to 5 hours per week, with pay of $14.00 per hour, and residency in Florida at hire.
DESCRIPTION: The Peer Mentor assists the First Year Experience instructor as ateaching-team member, communicating and meeting with a small groupof first year students (mentees), providing information about thecampus, directing mentees to resources, sharing their experienceswith first year students, holding office hours, and answeringgeneral inquiries.
