Job summary

New Freedom is seeking a Peer Coach – Driver to provide recovery-focused peer support, transportation, and advocacy to members enrolled in our programs. You will mentor individuals, help them access treatment, employment opportunities, and community resources, and serve as a positive role model throughout their recovery journey.

Ideal candidates are 21+, hold a PRSS certification, and bring strong communication and interpersonal skills to a dynamic, community-focused team.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• PRSS Certification required.
• Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, recovery services, reentry services, or related experience (2 or more years preferred).
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful annual MVR clearance required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries.
• Experience providing transportation services in healthcare, behavioral health, or community-service environments preferred.
• Experience working with justice-involved, recovery, or reentry populations preferred.
• Knowledge of community resources, employment supports, and recovery services.

Responsibilities

• Providing peer support, mentorship, advocacy, and recovery coaching services.
• Assisting members in identifying strengths, setting goals, and developing recovery-focused plans.
• Supporting members in developing life skills, social skills, and community integration strategies.
• Transporting members safely to approved appointments, employment activities, treatment services, community resources, and recovery supports.
• Conducting prison pick-ups, release transports, and other approved transportation assignments when needed.
• Completing vehicle inspections, mileage logs, and transportation documentation. Maintaining assigned vehicles in a safe, clean, and professional condition.
• Collaborating with clinical, reentry, transitional services, and case management teams to support member success.

About the Role

The Peer Coach – Driver provides recovery-focused peer support, transportation services, and member advocacy to individuals participating in New Freedom programs. This position serves as a trusted mentor and role model while helping members navigate recovery, community resources, employment opportunities, and treatment services. The role combines peer support responsibilities with safe transportation services to ensure members remain engaged in the services and supports they need to succeed

What You’ll Be Responsible For

What We’re Looking For

• Must be 21 years of age or older

• Minimum one year of peer support, behavioral health, recovery services, reentry services, or related experience (2 or more years preferred)
• Valid Arizona driver's license required
• Successful annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) clearance required
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain professional and ethical boundaries
• Experience providing transportation services in healthcare, behavioral health, or community-service environments preferred
• Experience working with justice-involved, recovery, or reentry populations preferred
• Knowledge of community resources, employment supports, and recovery services
