RI International is seeking a Peer Support Specialist II in Durham, NC for a full-time, non-exempt role with standard Monday–Friday hours. The position involves coaching, advocacy, and recovery-focused services for participants in community settings.
Responsibilities include assisting with resume building, job searching, recovery planning, and collaboration with clinical teams to coordinate transportation and services. Requires Peer Specialist certification and a driver’s license.

The Peer Support Specialist II provides support and recovery training to individuals receiving services. The Peer Support Specialist II also assists in implementing/creating a recovery environment and acts as an advocate for the needs and rights of every individual. The Peer Support Specialist II provides support to participants through assisting in resume building, job searching and recovery planning.

A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process.
May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Must obtain Certified Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification (CMPSS) within thirty (30) days of hire.

Art-related experience is required to support the Art Works program, which incorporates creative expression as part of behavioral health services.
