Job summary

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Lab/Clinical Nursing Faculty member in Pediatrics to provide direct and indirect clinical instruction and student evaluation. This full-time role involves teaching with innovative methods, utilizing current technologies, and supporting accreditation standards.

The position requires a MSN, pediatric nursing experience, and an active RN license in ID (or a compact state). Prep for occasional travel to clinical sites and collaboration with faculty is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in Pediatric nursing.
• An active and unencumbered Registered Nurse in the state of ID or compact state.
• Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Evidence of involvement in professional activities (organizations, presentations, research).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and preceptors.
• Support of the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces didactic content and teaches in the context of clinical and lab application for pre licensure nursing.
• Collaborates with content area faculty to evaluate and document student progress toward objectives.
• Participates in grading written and clinical/lab performance check-offs.
• Maintains communication with program faculty and director, attending faculty meetings as needed.
• Remains current with trends in nursing practice and education.
• Maintains compliance with program accreditation requirements.
• Upholds the university’s mission and nursing tenets, including service to the community.
• Requires travel to student clinical sites to observe student performance.
