Job summary

The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore is seeking a Pediatric Neurologist at the level of Associate Professor or full Professor to serve as the Division Head with a focus on Epilepsy.

The candidate must be board certified/eligible in pediatrics, eligible for an unrestricted Maryland license, and committed to patient care, teaching and collaborative work with related specialties.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Child Neurology.
  • Training in Pediatric Epilepsy and/or Neurophysiology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Pediatrics Neurology Division as Associate Professor or Professor.
  • Coordinate epilepsy and neurophysiology programs within the division.
  • Collaborate with neuroradiology, behavioral pediatrics, neuropsychology, genetics and Trauma/ICU teams.
  • Mentor faculty and trainees and advance research activities.

The University of Maryland School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Neurology is recruiting for a Pediatric Neurologist at the level of Associate Professor or full Professor to serve as the Division Head with a focus on Epilepsy.

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in pediatrics and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Expected rank for this position will be Associate Professor or full Professor, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.

Expected Salary Range: $290,000 to $320,000. The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of the Neurology, Pediatrics faculty compensation program or pay from participation in Neurology, Pediatrics variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.

The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s good faith belief at the time of posting.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

The University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital has a renowned Children’s Headache Program and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program. We recently expanded our critical care, cardiac, and neonatology services providing opportunities for career development and we are looking to explore new opportunities for translational and/or preclinical research. Our Division of Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics is also expanding, which will offer additional opportunities for collaboration. Expected rank for this position will be Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate’s experience.
