Children's Nebraska, in collaboration with the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), is recruiting a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to join a thriving academic practice. The division includes five physicians, three nurse practitioners, a nurse case manager, dedicated clinic and dialysis nurses, pharmacists, a dietitian, transplant coordinators, social workers, child life specialists, a music therapist, and an education specialist.
This position offers a unique opportunity to advance a strong clinical and academic career in Pediatric Nephrology. It includes a competitive salary and a faculty appointment at UNMC, based on experience and prior rank.
Our comprehensive care spans from prenatal consultation to transition into adult nephrology, including inpatient and outpatient services at Children's Nebraska. We conduct multidisciplinary clinics with Urology and Cardiology and offer prenatal consultations involving these specialties, as well as Neonatology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Genetics. As the only Pediatric Dialysis unit in the state, we provide hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and CRRT, with plans to add plasmapheresis when fully staffed. Our physicians also manage kidney transplant patients in collaboration with Nebraska Medicine transplant surgeons.
Research opportunities are abundant, with support from the Child Health Research Institute, NIH ECHO, and IDeA funding. Our projects involve Neonatology, Biochemistry, and Nutrition, and include industry-sponsored clinical trials. We participate in the Midwest Pediatric Nephrology Research Consortium and welcome quality improvement projects, participating in SCOPE, IROC, and NAPRTCs.
Children's Nebraska is a 225-bed nonprofit organization, home to Nebraska's only Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, as well as the state's first Cardiac Care Unit. We provide over 50 pediatric specialty services across a five-state region, with recent expansions in surgical space, NICU, radiology, and Emergency Department to support our mission of improving children's lives.
