Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Pediatrics Primary Care office in Muncie. The role supports patients throughout visits, helps with exams, and ensures accurate documentation in a busy clinic.

The candidate will take vitals, prepare exam rooms, and maintain supplies while assisting providers with exams and procedures. Relevant MA certification preferred; 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred. Generous benefits and growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA).

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program

High school diploma or equivalency
