Job summary

Meridian Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Pediatrics Primary Care office in Muncie to support patients and providers. The role includes taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, assisting with exams, and handling patient documentation.

Schedule: Days vary and will include some weekends; 40 hours per week. Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program; CMA/NCMA/CCMA/RMA certification preferred; 6–12 months clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA).
• 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments.
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies.
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation.
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols.
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth.
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality.
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards.
