Job summary

Meridian Health Services in Muncie, IN, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients in our Pediatrics Primary Care office.

You will take vitals, prepare exam rooms, assist with exams and telehealth, manage labs and records, and uphold infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• High school diploma or equivalency required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, NCMA, CCMA, or RMA) is preferred.
• 6–12 months of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guide patients through their visit and prepare them for provider assessments
• Take vitals, prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain supplies
• Support providers with exams, minor procedures, and patient documentation
• Perform phone triage, manage labs and records, and follow infection-control protocols
• Conduct screenings (PHQ-9, Edinburgh, GAD-7) and assist with telehealth
• Prepare medications, maintain certifications, and protect patient confidentiality
• Complete daily/weekly tasks, attend meetings, and uphold OSHA/CLIA standards
