Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Midtown Pediatrics General department. You will perform rooming, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and support providers with procedures while ensuring patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, with at least two years of MA experience. CMA/RMA certification and BLS are preferred; comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or structured military clinical training in lieu of MA program.
• Two years of clinical MA experience within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Mount/record vital signs, med reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance and screenings.
• Assist providers with procedures and perform lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and proper equipment function.
• Support training of teammates and participate in committees as needed.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate patient care and effective communication.
