Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Assistant for Mountain Island Pediatrics - General in a full-time role. The position supports pediatric care with rooming, vital signs, and routine screenings, under physician supervision and within the MA scope of practice.

You will perform venipuncture, basic lab duties, and assist with vaccines and patient education. Strong communication, EMR skills, and BLS are required; healthcare benefits and training are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Medical Assistant scope and follow policies.
• Perform rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture and basic lab duties; POCT per order.
• Administer medications and vaccines per rights.
• Handle refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross-train for other clinic duties; maintain clean environment.
• Communicate effectively and escalate when needed.
• Provide age-appropriate patient care per department standards.
