Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Medical Assistant for Mountain Island Pediatrics - General. The role supports patient care, rooming, vitals, immunizations, and lab tasks in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Candidates should demonstrate solid MA competencies, strong communication, and teamwork. This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus eligibility and a daytime M-F schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, teammates and physicians.
• Proficient computer skills including Windows navigation and electronic medical records.
• Strong customer service mindset to support a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Conducts rooming tasks: vital signs, histories, health maintenance, screenings and reviews.
• Assists provider with or performs procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: blood collection, labeling, POCT, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication rights.
• Completes duties like refills, authorizations, scheduling and referrals.
• Cross trained for duties relevant to clinic practice within MA scope.
• Maintains clean environment and ensures equipment and supplies are stocked.
