Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers and deliver excellent patient care. You will work with patients, assist with exams, coordinate care, and support education and testing.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and potential MA credentials; EMT/Paramedic or Athletic Trainer backgrounds are acceptable. CPR is required. This role offers growth opportunities within a mission-driven health system.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; MA program or MA externship/internship, EMT, Paramedic, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• MA eligibility: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, or CMAC certification preferred.
• Minimum experience: 0–1 year clinical experience; 2+ years if MA program not completed.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Education
