Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED plus an MA program and externship, or MA internship.
• Alternative: EMT program or Paramedic program or Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Maintains MA re-Certification CEUs if credentialed.
• Minimum experience: 0-1 year clinical experience, or 2+ years if no MA program.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
