Job summary

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family, invites you to join our pediatrics care team in Wallingford. The Medical Assistant will support the care team with patient intake, clinical and administrative tasks, and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a half-day Saturday rotation, competitive pay between $16 and $25 per hour, and a comprehensive benefits package to help you grow with our community.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program OR Completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces of the United States OR 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, clinical summary and direction on next steps or follow up
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed
• Act as a member of the care team, including preparing patients to be seen by collecting and recording clinical information as per protocol
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow up visits on behalf of patients
• Document all patient interactions and other clinical activities accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Adhere to approved protocols and ensure timely completion of tasks

Education

Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program

Completed relevant medical assisting training by any branch of the armed forces of the United States

2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare
