Job summary

Boston Medical Center in Boston, MA seeks a Pediatrics Data Analyst to analyze large data sets, perform SAS programming, cleaning, and descriptive analyses, and support QA/QI initiatives. You will collaborate with the NeoQIC director and senior project manager to develop surveys in REDCap and present findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, plus three years of data collection/analysis experience, or Master's in healthcare with one year.
  • Advanced statistical courses (2) can substitute for one year of experience.
  • Experience with data management and statistical analysis in healthcare settings.

Responsibilities

  • Performs data management and analysis: SAS, cleaning, descriptive analyses, regression, power calculations.
  • Assists with abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations.
  • Develops surveys in REDCap with NeoQIC director and senior project manager.
  • Provides actionable data through Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools.
  • Literature searches and synthesis for reports and presentations.
  • Supports financial analytics across outpatient, inpatient, and ED data.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Analyze large amounts of data, supplying statistical information, interpreting data, managing data and providing technical support to help the department allocate resources, measure performance, and help design new programs, facilities and systems. Typically involves Quality Assurance/Improvement, Database Management, and streamlining data collection processes. May oversee and coordinate research projects as well as statistical tests and programs. Position: Pediatrics Data Analyst Department: Pediatrics Schedule: Full Time

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Performs a variety of duties related to data management, and analysis including: SAS programming, dataset cleaning, descriptive analyses, regression modeling, power calculations, creation of SPC comparative reports in QI on a regular basis
  • Assists with data presentations needed in abstracts, manuscript preparation and presentations.
  • Works jointly with the NeoQIC director and senior project manager to develop and administer surveys in REDCAP.
  • Provides data and information to network partners in a readily accessible, understandable and actionable manner using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools as needed.
  • Conducts literature searches using web-based search engines and other reference tools and synthesizes information in requested formats.
  • Assists in the dissemination of project and specific study-related information through conferences and presentations and contributes to the methods and results sections of manuscripts for peer review.
  • Collaborates across the department to support financial initiatives, including outpatient, inpatient, and Emergency Department (ED) data analytics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required, plus three years of experience with data collection, analysis, and/or program evaluation; or Master's Degree in a healthcare field plus one year of relevant experience. Advanced statistical courses (2) can be substituted for one year of relevant experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Proficiency with MS Suite (Excel /Minitab /Visio /Access/Word /Outlook/PowerPoint). Support BACO metrics Must have experience in statistical analysis and interpreting data from analytic studies. Comfortable presenting in group settings Experience interacting with database environments (e.g. SQL, MS Access, Oracle) is a plus. Strong conceptual and analytical skills; able to interpret and apply statistical techniques, and effective communication skills to explain methods and findings to non-statistician team members and audiences. Ability to work independently and to set priorities while managing several projects simultaneously; strong attention to detail is essential.

COMPENSATION RANGE

Range: $62,500.00 - $91,000.00 This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
