Pediatrics - Critical Care (Assistant Professor)

Summary

The Baylor College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics - Critical Care is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time role as an Assistant Professor.

Job Duties
  1. Care for critically ill infants and children requiring high-level monitoring and treatment, including those with respiratory failure, septic shock, neurological emergencies, severe trauma, and post-operative care such as neurosurgery and organ transplantation.
  2. Supervise and perform procedures such as intubation and central line placement, and provide conscious sedation within the ICU.
  3. Collaborate with pediatric subspecialties, nursing, respiratory therapy, and ancillary services to deliver comprehensive care.
  4. Engage in administrative and academic activities, including research, supervision and education of residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers, educational leadership, and quality improvement projects.
  5. Participate in critical care section activities like committee work, teaching, and patient care discussions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD/DO Degree or equivalent; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
  • Fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care (minimum 3 years).
