Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a Director of Advanced Practice for its pediatrics service line. The role provides strategic and operational leadership for Advanced Practice Providers across divisions, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.

Collaborate with system leadership to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Monday–Friday, day shift, with flexible hours to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Work requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Work requires completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, with a Master’s degree.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses clinical needs across divisions and departments to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in programs and services.
• Provides strategic direction for growth opportunities, expansion, and optimization of APP practice.
• Leads APP recruitment, hiring, evaluation, and retention strategies.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, licensure readiness, and adherence to accreditation standards.
• Develops and maintains standardized APP guidelines, policies, and protocols.
• Supports educational and research initiatives to advance APP practice.
