Job summary

You will oversee daily nursing operations, mentor staff, and ensure clinical standards while expanding the team as the program grows. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and measurable outcomes for vulnerable children.

Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania RN license (or eligible) and BSN.
• 3+ years nursing experience, pediatrics; experience with medically complex, trach or vent-dependent children preferred.
• Nursing leadership experience and staff education experience.
• Experience with quality improvement, infection prevention and regulatory surveys.
• BLS required; PALS or ENPC preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to lead through conflict and change.
• Regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors; English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily nursing operations: oversee staffing and ensure high-quality care for every child.
• Develop the team: lead orientation, ongoing education, validate competencies (trach, vent, G-tube, emergency response).
• Hold standards: coach staff, address performance concerns, and maintain accountability.
• Improve quality: use audits and outcomes to drive infection prevention, documentation and regulatory readiness.
• Build trust: be a visible leader for staff, families and interdisciplinary partners.
• Lead with the DON: step in for the Director of Nursing when needed and share leadership on-call.
