Cumberland Family Medical Center (CFMC) seeks a compassionate Pediatrician to provide comprehensive care to infants, children, and adolescents within a family-centered environment in Kentucky. You will conduct exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order tests, prescribe vaccines, and educate families on growth, nutrition, safety, and preventive care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an approved pediatric residency program.
• Board-certified in Pediatrics by ABP or AOBP.
• BLS and PALS certification required.
• Current and unrestricted medical license in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations and obtain medical histories, assessing developmental progress.
• Diagnose and treat illnesses, injuries, and other pediatric conditions.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and immunizations following pediatric guidelines.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood work, imaging) to aid diagnosis and planning.
• Counsel families on preventative care, nutrition, safety, and healthy lifestyles.

If you are committed to helping children grow, thrive, and reach their full potential, we invite you to join our collaborative, service-driven team, where your expertise and compassion can make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and the communities we serve.Job Functions/Responsibilities:Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtaining complete medical histories and assessing patients' developmental progress.Diagnoses and treat illnesses, injuries, and other health conditions specific to pediatric patients.Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and immunizations following established pediatric guidelines.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work, X-rays, and other imaging studies, to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.Counsel and educate patients and their families on preventative care, healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and safety measures.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and therapists, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient encounters, diagnoses, treatment plans, and outcomes.Participate in continuing medical education activities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pediatric medicine.Adhere to all relevant ethical and legal standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.Provide compassionate and supportive care to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and fostering a positive patient experience.Participate in hospital rounds and attend deliveries as needed.Manage and treat common pediatric illnesses, such as infections, respiratory problems, and allergies.Address developmental and behavioral issues in children and adolescents.Provide guidance and support to parents on childcare, breastfeeding, and other parenting concerns.Advocate for the health and well-being of children within the community.Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall enhancement of pediatric care services within Cumberland Family Medical CenterOther duties as assigned.Required Education:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.Completion of an accredited pediatric residency program.Board certification in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics.BLS/PALS certification.Required Experience:Demonstrated experience in providing comprehensive pediatric care, including well-child visits, acute illness management, and chronic disease management.Experience working with diverse patient populations.Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.Required Skills and Abilities:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, adolescents, and their families.Strong clinical skills and judgment.Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.Ability to maintain accurate and detailed medical records.Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.Current and unrestricted medical license in the state of practice.Current DEA registration.Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable insurance program credentialing, as required for the position.Schedule Requirements are detailed in contract.Work schedules are set at the discretion of CFMC and may be adjusted at any time based on the operational needs of the organization.Benefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO, Holidays, Paid CME with stipend, free malpractice insurance coverage, student loan repayment opportunitiesDisclaimer:All information provided is subject to the specific terms and conditions outlined in the employee’s individual contract.
