Job summary

Legacy Community Health is seeking a board-certified/eligible Pediatrician to join a collaborative team in Houston. You will provide compassionate, comprehensive care for children and adolescents, with responsibilities spanning assessments, treatment, and education within a multi-disciplinary clinic.

The role offers a standard 8:00 AM–5:00 PM schedule, opportunities for mentorship, and a mission-driven environment dedicated to community health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • MD degree and current licensure.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics.
  • Strong communication and cultural competency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and provide tailored treatment to pediatric patients.
  • Maintain scheduled hours for clinic coverage including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Develop and uphold pediatric clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Supervise non-physician providers and mentor healthcare staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings and committee activities to improve care quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and provide tailored treatment to our pediatric clients.
  • Maintain scheduled hours for extended clinic coverage, ensuring accessibility during days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Stay flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of the clinic's expansion.
  • Meet and exceed the productivity expectations set by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Develop and uphold clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols specific to pediatric care.
  • Be available for phone consultations as needed during your scheduled hours.
  • Assist in creating and reviewing patient education materials that empower families.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to healthcare students during their practical training.
  • Establish and manage a program dedicated to clinical quality assurance.
  • Supervise non-physician providers, offering support in their pediatric treatment practices.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and various committees.
  • Engage in the Performance Improvement Program to enhance clinic operations.
  • Guide patients on health and illness prevention, including family planning services as required by regulations.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support clinic goals.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Medical Doctorate with current licensure.
  • Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
  • Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, workers compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer, health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization, accountable health plan, and other health benefit program requested by Legacy.
  • Possess an interest in working with adolescents.
  • Uphold the Code of Ethics of their professional licensing entity.
  • Must complete the minimum hours of continuing education to maintain professional license.
  • Must maintain good standing with professional licensing board.
  • Must demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to all populations served.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, community, and the general public.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize.
  • Adept in decision making responsibilities.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
