Job summary

SIU Medicine seeks an academic faculty member in pediatric urology to teach medical students, residents, and allied health professionals. The selected candidate will report to the Chief of the Division of Urology and the Chair of the Department of Surgery, with primary emphasis on pediatric urology.

The role combines teaching, research, and service, with a collaborative clinical practice and national-level involvement in committees and meetings.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Urology Surgery.
• MD licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Pediatric Urology Fellowship.
• Sensitive to the needs of under-represented minority populations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and implementation of undergraduate curricula in urology.
• Participate directly in urology residency training.
• Participate in continuing education programs in urology for faculty.
• Serve as a role model for students and residents.
• Engage in teaching across conferences, clinics, OR, and labs.
• Engage in research and scholarly activity to enhance the division.
• Pursue funding to support research.
• Serve as investigator and mentor.
